The Cathay Cineplex
This is about my trip to The Cathay, to watch the show "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle".
Actually, I hate the word "Teenage", because it sounds like those who watch it are just some cannot-grow-up-boys. But I still remember in my younger age, I was keen on this animation, and it surely gave me a lot of memories.
So, here starts my trip.
This is bright sun day. Although there is some clouds, they are not enough to cover the sun. I have to walk underneath the sun, to the nearest bus stop, and then take a bus to the MRT station.
I heard that you can't take photo in the MRT station, but I really cannot find a notice that saying "Taking photo in MRT will be fined XXX". So, I just test my guts to take a photo like this. A track that is straight and long sometimes make me feel artistic, so I just take a photo of it. It is some kind of strangely beautifulness, I don't know why.
This is Plaza Singapura at some night near Christmas. So you can see these kinds of stuffs around here and there just to tell everyone that, "Christmas is near!!"
The show starts at 3pm, I reached Dhoby Ghaut Station at 2.15pm. I decided to have a walk in Plaza Singapura, or what we called "Plaza Sing". I once asked a stupid question, "Can the Plaza sing sing?" Then my cousin just give me an "Are you stupid?" glare.
The Yamaha music shop in Plaza Sing. Not selling any bike inside.
There's a reason why I went to Plaza Sing. It was because I needed to go to Yamaha shop to buy some accessories. I think that this Yamaha Music Shop is probably the biggest in South-East Asia, because it simply BIG. Well, they are divided into a few shop lots, but all of them are YAMAHA, so I just treat them as one.
This guy, is Daniel. I am actually revenging because he put my photo in his blog page without my permission. Look fierce, right? Yes, he is very fierce indeed.
Then suddenly Daniel called me. His is the one who were going to watch the movie with me, and he is a guy. So unlucky that I can't find a girl to go with me, so I have to invite him. Poor me. Then after that all were in rush. We had to rush to eat, then rush to watch the movie.
The Cathay, a distinctive and historical building. I learned something about this place in my SS module, but sorry, I have totally forgotten about it. Because we were in rush, I don't have the time to take a proper photo of it. So, that's it.
After some steps, we have reached this distinctive building. Well, the adjective is from Daniel, so I just use it here. I think it is weird, because the front of it is so history-like, and the other parts just look so modern.
The Cathay Cineplex is at fifth floor of The Cathay Building. There were so many people waiting at the lift, so we just had to take the escalator to move up. Finally we reached at the cineplex, there were just so many people. Then, we were lost. We couldn't find the entrance to the theater hall. Then I was in doubt. Daniel said that he had been there before, and then he was lost with me. Finally, we found our way, and then we entered the cinema hall.
Sorry for no photo inside the hall. Well, I hope that you do understand that no photo taking is allowed inside, or else I may be caught for that. What I want to say is that the seats are just damn so comfortable. It makes me think of the cinemas in Malaysia, that seats will make your body cry in pain. In The Cathay Cineplex, instead of painful body, you will feel that you don't want to lift your body from the seat.
The movie was quite good. Before this I thought that it is some kind of childish movie, because of the word "teenage". The starting animation of a legend just looked so cool. It is like some kind of good computer games' starting animation, and I love computer games. The story is quite impressive also, but I think maybe it is too simple. But, as an animation, I don't think I need to expect much.
My conclusion is that, this is an enjoyable show. But, Daniel keep making me feel that he was feeling sleepy as the movie went on. Maybe he was just too tired.
The Cathay. I took this in my cousin's car after the show. The combination of stone wall and glass wall were just so strange, but yet, it has some strangely beautifulness.
