Second Last Rehearsal

We had our second last rehearsal today (IF there is no rehearsal on Saturday).

Before we begin, let me tell you a story.

I was telling Dennis (when we were drinking beer) that I was a bit too nervous when I play my solo. Then he just suggested beer before playing. Then I was like, "Oh ya, good idea". But the idea didn't go well. Yoke Khee and Edna said better not. Qicai was quite neutral, but he suggested another way, banana.

Ok, back to today story.

You know, beer is so expensive, and if I really take beer, it will like maybe just half of it (because if I finish it, I think I will be a bit drunk or blur, and that certainly will get worse effect). And banana is like a lot cheaper.

So you guess it, I had banana. Only one. But the effect I think is quite good. Firstly, it makes my stomach feel more comfortable. And then, I felt less hungry. And then, I really felt relaxed. In fact, a bit too relax that I felt sleepy at the beginning of Planet Earth, and enter wrongly on my first note. But I think no one noticed, which is OK.

OK, stop about banana.

My playing today was quite contradicting. Some said very nice, some said not that nice. But for me, I felt that today was the best ever that I had played. Jinyang said, very 温柔. Tess agreed. Dennis said, for the first time, can heard a bit out here and there; but the second time was almost perfect.

Those who went with me to supper said almost different things. Christopher said today not nice, because of bad entrance, and "People only hear for the beginning and the end". I quite agree to his point, because I really didn't enter well. Mingwei and Benson also agreed to that.

Overall, I felt very high today for Planet Earth. Jinyang said he was too high until face turned red. I felt that too. Starting from movement 3, was like getting more and more high, although some parts were quite weird with 1st trombone missing. But Yoke Khee said today not nice at all. Another contradicting point, and this one is even more extreme. Erm, interesting.

The really high part is when at the hymn part, when almost all of them were singing, and Mr. Tan was like getting deeper and deeper into the music. At the moment, it felt if I played something wrong, the piece will be damaged severely. And for the first time, I played all of the notes. Before this, I can only last for three quarter of the notes, and let the oboes cover me for the rest.

And I felt quite confident now. The concert, will be nothing to me...
