月饼节 mooncake festival
Today I went to do project thing at PGP, then rushed to YIH for the committee meeting, and then went to CFA to practice.
Life without instrument is certainly torturing. In fact, yesterday I went to CFA but left in sorrow simply because no instrument to play.
My flute won't fly back nor will I get a new oboe reeds from nowhere. So, life is still without instrument. But Daniel was not there. So I went to take his Tuba and play. After that, I felt very guilty and said sorry to him. OK, actually he will just let me use it, because both of us just very used to "Khaiyuen playing Daniel's Tuba", which others are not.
I felt very satisfying playing Tuba today, because I managed to get a whole chromatic scale from lower Bb to middle Bb. Yes, first time in my life, I get a chromatic scale on brass instrument! It's really not easy, especially for a flute player like me. Beside that, I also got down to pedal B, one note upper than pedal Bb, the lowest note in Tuba. I did get some tone that sounded similar to pedal Bb, but I doubt that it was really "pedal" Bb.
Clarinet section has sectional today (trombone also). They celebrated the mooncake festival (Khee Nguen was very reluctant to call it "Mid-autumn Festival"), and they asked me to be their cameraman. And I have to admit that I am a very good cameraman. If I am not playing in da capo, maybe I will just volunteer to take photos for da capo. So, please try and find a cameraman for the concert.
Overall, it was just a very happy and meaningful event (I want to say un-meaningful actually, but the clarinets sure will kill me).
Below are photos taken when they were lighting the lanterns.
Thanks to Khee Nguen, a lighter was wasted.

Then they went to a walk around CFA, till YIH, said goodbye to a member, and then back to CFA again.
A very happy clarinet section, eating mooncakes.
Ian's and Huili's lanterns.
This is what I received, for being the cameraman.
