Ensemble Competition
Yesterday before band practice was the ensemble competition. There were totally six groups, The Ultimate Bass Adagio (TUBA), Saxophobia (Firdaus's), Brass Quintet (Mingwei, RongChen, Daniel, Dennis, Benjamin), another saxophone (Sharon's), trumpets and percussions.
Daniel giving rehearsal.
Trumpets practising.
Setting up.
The three judges.
Daniel giving speech before start.
The Ultimate Bass Adagio, "Adagio".
Serious and heavy atmosphere.
Smiling judges.
Saxophobia, playing a light and fast song, which I can't remember the name.
Mingwei giving speech.
Dennis' solo.
"Amazing Grace", the version that Canadian Brass played.
Another saxophones.
"An American in Paris".
Trumpets, also another song with difficult-to-remember song name.
Percussion, which is the hardest to take photos, because too many things happening at same time.
"Excalibur".
Waiting for the result.
The result came out after 15 minutes. The first is the Brass Quintet, the tied seconds are percussions and "American in Paris".
Daniel told me afterwards that he played some wrong note in the TUBA to let the Brass Quintet win. He requested me to keep secret, but I decided this must be exposed to the public, to let people know how bad Daniel is. hahahaha...
